Kephart Applauds Local Recipients of Emergency Services Grants

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Dallas Kephart (R-Cambria/Clearfield) today announced more than $500,000 in Fire and Emergency Medical Services Grants awarded to local fire and EMS companies that are situated in or serve communities in the 73rd Legislative District.

“These grants support our local first responders, without whom our communities would look vastly different,” said Kephart. “This funding will help our local companies continue their great work and upgrade service in and around the 73rd District.”

Funding for these grants is awarded for projects including the construction or renovation of fire or ambulance company facilities, purchase or repair of equipment, training, or reduction of existing debt. The grants are administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner. All companies that apply and meet the requirements outlined by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner receive funding.

• Clearfield Emergency Medical Services Inc. - $15,000.
• Clearfield Volunteer Fire Department - $50,600.
• Columbia Volunteer Fire Co. - $12,233.
• Community Volunteer Fire Department of Mahaffey - $12,233.
• Glendale Volunteer Fire Department Engine Co. No. 1 - $12,879.
• Glen Hope Volunteer Fire Co. - $12,018.
• Grassflat Fire Co. - $12,233.
• Hastings Area Ambulance Association - $15,000.
• Hastings Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 - $14,385.
• Hope Fire Co. of Northern Cambria - $16,322.
• Hope Fire Co. (Philipsburg) - $15,030.
• Houtzdale Fire Co. No. 1 - $13,524.
• Houtzdale Ramey EMS - $15,000.
• Irvona Volunteer Ambulance Co. - $15,000.
• Irvona Volunteer Fire Co. - $12,663.
• John Carroll Area Ambulance Service - $15,000.
• Karthaus Ambulance Service - $15,000.
• Karthaus Volunteer Fire Department - $12,018.
