Kephart Cancels Clearfield Townhall Due to SCI Rockview Hearing

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Dallas Kephart (R-Cambria/Clearfield) today announced that his upcoming town hall on Tuesday, April 15, in Clearfield has been cancelled due to the SCI Rockview Department of Corrections hearing being held that same evening.

Recently, Gov. Josh Shapiro announced a plan to close correctional facilities in the Commonwealth. One such facility is SCI Rockview. There is a three-month period for community members and other stakeholders to provide feedback before a final decision is made, per Act 133 of 2018.

A hearing on the proposed closure has been scheduled for the evening of April 15.

“Unfortunately, the hearing for SCI Rockview is scheduled for the same time as my town hall,” stated Kephart. “I need to be at the DOC hearing, as the proposed closures of SCI Rockview and Quehanna Bootcamp will greatly affect residents of the 73rd Legislative District.”

Kephart has a town hall scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, April 1, at 5 p.m. at the Patton Fire Hall, 410 Magee Ave., Patton.
