State Grant Funding Awarded for Damaged Roads, Fire Company, and Public Works Services, Kephart Says

HARRISBURG – Nearly $500,000 in state grant funding is being awarded to repair deteriorating roads and bolster publics works services in Cambria and Clearfield counties, according to Rep. Dallas Kephart (R-Cambria/Clearfield).

More than $205,000 will be used by Carrolltown Borough to repave Richard Street, a portion of Old Dutch Road, a portion of Xavier Street and the upper section of East Campbell Street.

Close to $129,000 will be used to repair and repave roads in Houtzdale Borough. Those roads include one block of Good Street and a section of McAteer Street. Houtzdale-Ramey Fire Company will also receive approximately $39,000 dollars to replace fire station drains.

Muddy Run Regional Authority was awarded $90,000 to purchase a utility vehicle used for plowing snow, while Cooper Township Municipal Authority will receive $91,600 to replace a utility vehicle that will incorporate a crane and plow.

“The affected roads are all showing signs of wear related to age and traffic. A top priority of mine is funding local infrastructure projects and emergency services in our communities. I commend local officials for reaching out and partnering with me to obtain this funding,” Kephart said.

These grants were part of the statewide Local Share Account grant program. Applications are currently open for the upcoming round and eligible applicants are encouraged to apply.
